Dak Galbi Recipe

Ingredients (2 servings):

500g of chicken
1/2 cup of water
rice cake
1 sweet potato
lettuce
onion
green onion
sesame leaf

For sauce:

2 spoons of gochujang (고추장; red chili paste)
2 spoons of red pepper powder
1 1/2 spoon of soy sauce
2 spoons of sugar
1 spoon of crushed garlic
1/3 spoon of curry powder
1 spoon of sesame oil
a pinch of pepper

For bokkeumbap:

2 servings of rice
cheese
dried seaweed
kimchi
1 spoon of sesame oil

Step 1. Prepare all ingredients for the sauce.

Step 2. Cut chicken into small pieces and mix thoroughly with the sauce. Set aside.

(Tip: If you are using frozen chicken, boil in hot water with rice cake and sweet potato slices just until they’re soft enough to be cut, for those two ingredients take longer time to cook than the chicken and other vegetables.)

Step 3. Prepare the rest of the vegetable and place all in a pot or a big pan with water.

Top with chicken and cook in medium high heat until sweet potato is completely cooked and is mushy.

But if you want to make bokkeumbap, remove the meat & vegetable in the pot and leave a bit of sauce for later.

Step 4. Once finished eating, cut the leftover chicken and veggies into very small pieces,
like how you would chop the ingredients for fried rice.

Step 5. Add rice, dried seaweed, kimchi, and a spoon of sesame oil and mix together.

Top with cheese once everything is cooked.
