No-Fry Dakkangjung (닭강정; Sweet & Crispy Chicken) Recipe

This is my healthier alternative to dakkangjung!
What’s better is that it only requires 4 ingredients to make it.

Even though it’s not crispy as the regular ones, it works as a great banchan 🙂
(Banchan refers to small dishes of food served with cooked rice in Korean cuisine.)

Dakkangjung sweet and crispy chicken

Ingredients:

1/2 of a whole chicken (or 2-3 pieces of chicken breast or thigh)
3 cups of water
1 1/2 spoon of sugar
2 spoons of soy sauce
1/2 spoon of crushed garlic

Step 1. Boil 3 cups of water in high heat and put chicken when the water starts boiling.

Step 2. Mix sugar, soy sauce, and garlic in a small bowl.

Step 3. Once the chicken is completely cooked, drain all the water and add the mixture.
Throughly stir in medium high heat.

Place in a separate plate and enjoy!
